Become A Support Companion
Support companions open their homes to provide a residential living situation to individuals with disabilities. This is an incredible, life-changing gift. Host homes provide a quality of life to an individual in need that would most likely not be attained in an institutional setting. To these people, support companions provide personal connection, family, and the ability to lead meaningful, rich lives.
We are always looking for individuals and families who are interested in being trained and approved to provide support and companionship to individuals with developmental disabilities. Typically our participants would share your home where they would be the only person served and thus would be the sole focus of your attention. We serve a variety of individuals with different challenges. Participants will usually be involved in activities throughout the day, whether that is school, a day service, or other meaningful vocational or recreational activities.
We are especially interested in you if you have:
- Medical training or experience
- Training or experience in mental health or behavioral supports
- A male role model in the home
- A home that is wheelchair accessible
