LSG's Specialized foster Care Program
See our calendar for course descriptions and our schedule of trainings.
All children deserve to feel safe, stable and loved. At Lutheran Services of Georgia, we provide children in Georgia's foster care system with a temporary, caring home when their families are unable to care for them. During this difficult time in their life, a foster parent provides the stability and security of a loving home and the guidance of a positive role model.
What is Specialized Foster Care?
LSG's Specialized Foster Care program places children with children from birth up to 21 years and six months into the homes of qualified and trained foster parents. Specialized Foster Care works specifically with sibling groups and teens, children who are medically fragile, and children with physical, developmental and behavioral disabilities.
LSG’s foster families care and advocate for the children placed in their care until the children are either reunified with their parents or other family member or, if reunification is not possible, welcomed into a forever family through adoption.
Foster Parent Support
LSG's top priority is the safety, security and well-being of children in our care. We provide support and assistance to foster parents to ensure a safe and supportive foster care environment for each child. With nursing education and support, training coordination, and case management, foster parents are supported by the program staff at all times. LSG offers a thorough training program so that every parent feels confident and well-prepared to meet the special needs of children.
