BRINGING TOGETHER FOREVER FAMILIES
Children who need families are at the heart of Lutheran Services of Georgia's Adoption program, which seeks to place children of all ages with forever families that can provide loving, secure homes. LSG is a licensed "Child Placing Agency" with the Georgia Department of Human Services Office of Residential Child Care, a license LSG has held continuously since 1982. We place a special emphasis on placing children who have experienced significant difficulties and traumatic circumstances.

ADOPTION FROM FOSTER CARE / HERITAGE ADOPTION
We provide permanent families for waiting children in Georgia's foster care system. LSG offers prospective adoptive parents the opportunity to adopt children at very little cost thanks to a cooperative contact with the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), State Adoption Unit. Ongoing support is available to families throughout the process and after adoption.
Heritage Adoption is a Public / Private Partnership to Place:
A child who has been out of the custody of legal or biological parent for more than 24 consecutive months
Siblings who need to be placed for adoption together
Children who have been diagnosed with physical, emotional, or behavioral disabilities
LSG offers support throughout the adoption process, including parent training (IMPACT), home study or family assessment, placement services, family consultations, and more.
WENDY'S WONDERFUL KIDS
LSG has been a recipient of The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids grant since 2010. The Dave Thomas Foundation believes every child deserves a home and that every child is adoptable. Through the Dave Thomas Foundation Grant with Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, LSG provides a full-time recruiter to work with local child welfare offices and assist them in finding permanent homes for children. A lower caseload and use of Wendy’s Wonderful Kids’ Child-Focused Recruitment strategies enable the recruiter to creatively recruit adoptive families for specific children in foster care.
