make a difference ! Sound like you?
Since 1981 hundreds
of volunteers have provided support in virtually every area of our
organization. We depend on the caring people who give of their time and
talents to assist our various programs. Volunteers come from all age
groups, educational backgrounds, income levels, and from all over the state
of Georgia.
Volunteering is one
of the most pervasive activities in American society, one that has long been
a historical tradition. During the current era over half of the American
population regularly becomes involved in some sort of volunteer activity
each year. Think of it this way…100 million people donating time and
talents in excess of 19 billion hours a year, valued at around $150 billion
per year! In other words,
volunteers make a
difference!
Every act of
volunteering, large or small contributes to our ministry of service and
helps LSG fulfill our mission, “to bring hope, healing and strength to
people in need in Georgia.” The following list shows just a few of the
many ways volunteers support us and how you can join their ranks:

Refugee Services:

Assisting or
sponsoring a refugee family as a congregation or individuals

Furnishing an apartment for a refugee
family

Tutoring
or teaching English as a Second
Language

Providing
employment or assisting with
interview techniques for refugees

Career Discovery
Program:

Donating supplies
to help families and communities through
Lutheran Disaster Response

Adult Guardianship Program - assist LSG staff by performing tasks
and participating in making decisions for vulnerable adults in our
community
