Volunteers...
caring, available, servant oriented, compassionate, accepting, friendly, resourceful...

People who want to make a difference !  Sound like you?

Since 1981 hundreds of volunteers have provided support in virtually every area of our organization.  We depend on the caring people who give of their time and talents to assist our various programs.  Volunteers come from all age groups, educational backgrounds, income levels, and from all over the state of Georgia.

Volunteering is one of the most pervasive activities in American society, one that has long been a historical tradition.  During the current era over half of the American population regularly becomes involved in some sort of volunteer activity each year.  Think of it this way…100 million people donating time and talents in excess of 19 billion hours a year, valued at around $150 billion per year!  In other words, volunteers make a difference!

Every act of volunteering, large or small contributes to our ministry of service and helps LSG fulfill our mission, “to bring hope, healing and strength to people in need in Georgia.”   The following list shows just a few of the many ways volunteers support us and how you can join their ranks:

  • Refugee Services:

    • Assisting or sponsoring a refugee family as a congregation or individuals

    • Furnishing an apartment for a refugee family

    • Tutoring or teaching English as a Second Language

    • Providing employment or assisting with interview techniques for refugees

  • Family and Children:

  • Career Discovery Program:

    • Youth Tutoring

    • Guest Speaker

    • Intern Host, allowing a Career Discovery Program youth to volunteer at your company or organization

  • Donating supplies to help families and communities through Lutheran Disaster Response

  • Adult Guardianship Program - assist LSG staff by performing tasks and participating in making decisions for vulnerable adults in our community
