Lutheran Services of Georgia offers comprehensive training in order to prepare prospective foster parents to accept children into their homes. Course descriptions are as follows:


Impact explores foster care issues and challenges and is required for all foster parents who have not already completed a nationally recognized training program.

Special Needs

Special Needs training presents basic skills and knowledge for working with persons who have developmental disabilities.

Policies and Procedures

Policies and Procedures covers Universal Precautions against bloodborne pathogens, the home Health and Safety Assessment, and the Independent Contractor Agreement.

Partnership 101

Partnership 101 covers documentation and record keeping and offers helpful hints for working with one’s case manager.

Therapeutic Aggression and Control Techniques

Therapeutic Aggression and Control Techniques reviews LSG’s policies on behavior management and behavioral interventions.
