Career
Discovery
Youth Program
|

Focus
This program serves low-income youth in DeKalb
County high schools to help them successfully attain
a high school diploma, provide an opportunity to
explore career paths, and assist in placement in
post-secondary education or employment following
graduation. |

Activities
include:

After school academic tutoring

Field trips and guest speakers

Community service opportunities

Money management classes
-
Job Readiness classes

Participants receive:
|

Student Internships
This program organizes worksites that accept a
student to work in their office for 30 hour
internships. The Career Discovery Program
pays students for their time worked. This program
provides offices with a volunteer worker while
providing students with valuable work experience.

This program is funded through a grant from the
DeKalb County Workforce Development Department and
the Atlanta United Way -
