Job Title: Supervisor
Program: Adoption
Summary: The Adoption Supervisor is responsible for the overall
management of the Domestic and International adoption programs in a regional site, overseeing the clinical,
fiscal and procedural aspects of the program while supervising the coordinators in the
location as well as overseeing the use of contractors, interns and volunteers. He/she
works in partnership with the adoption coordinators in his/her location as well as other
contractors and coordinators in other areas of the state to provide a network of adoption
and foster to adopt services for children, birthparents and adoptive parents throughout
the state. He/she is responsible for monitoring the consideration of children first in
decision making and in the forefront to insure respectful, honest and truthful adoption
services for all parties.
Qualifications: Masters Degree in social work or other human service related field. Four
years of experience in adoption and/or foster care programs. One year of direct
supervisory experience including hiring, performance management, coaching, etc. Ability
and desire to work within a team and to work independently. Ability to make difficult
decisions after reviewing available information. Experience dealing with clinical issues
with consumers and community. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong
team building and leadership skills. Ability to take initiative. License in Clinical Social
Work (LCSW) and clinical experience would be helpful. Adoption case management
experience in a public or private agency would also be helpful. Or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.
